Arlene Hutchinson

Arlene M. Hutchinson, age 81, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 at Auburn Heights Senior Care in Auburn, following a brief illness. She was born January 30, 1929 in Caro, the daughter of the late Edwin & Goldie (Faedie) Poppe, and was a lifelong Caro resident, with the exception of the last few years spent in Auburn. She was united in marriage with E. C. (Hutch) Hutchinson on June 7, 1951 in Caro. He preceded Arlene in death on June 25, 2000. For many years, Arlene was employed at the Ben Franklin Store in Caro before starting her employment at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in the Laundry Department for twenty years, retiring in 1994. During her free time, Arlene liked doing crafts of all kinds, including china painting, basket weaving, caning chairs, weaving and collecting antiques. Surviving Arlene are two brothers and their spouses, Richard & Joyce Poppe of Bay City, Herbert & Barbara Poppe of Hawks, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Arlene was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Vanover, and her brother-in-law, Rev. Phillip Vanover.
