Arlene M. Myers

Arlene Mary (Beitz) Myers, 87, fell peacefully asleep, in Jesus arms at her home on Thursday, April 23, 2020.  She was born in Sebewaing, MI, on May 11, 1932, to Arthur and Wilma Beitz.  She was a 1950 graduate of Sebewaing High School and married her high school sweetheart, Burdette C. Myers, on February 23, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing.

In her early married years, Arlene did bookkeeping at Kuhl Lumber until she began her family.  After her children were raised she then took a job at Engelhardt Petroleum keeping books there until she retired in 1989.

She and Burdette created a loving, Christian home for their six children, grounded in the faith they professed together at their beloved Immanuel Lutheran Church. Faith in God and her family were most important to Arlene and she was a loving supporter of everything that her children and grandchildren did. She loved having breakfast with her son Neal on Monday mornings and with her girls every Saturday morning around her table. She would jump at every chance to go with one of her kids to do whatever the day would bring or just chat with them on the phone.  She especially loved going on trips often to visit her daughter, Brenda, in Illinois.

Surviving are her six children and their spouses:  Brenda (Mike) Wible of Downer's Grove, IL, Philip (Jean) Myers, Caseville, Neal (Deb) Myers, Cindy (Tim) Smith, Marlene (Daryl) Faber all of Sebewaing, and Barb (Rob) DeSimpelare of Frankenmuth.  Eight grandchildren:  Kelly (Nick) Linzner, Michael Myers, Dr. Ryan (Nina) Wible, Jason (Melissa) Smith, Jodi Smith, Zachary and Kensi DeSimpelare and Chelsea Faber.  Six great-grandchildren: Blayne & Brody Linzner, Ellie & Cameron Wible, Landry Madjecki and Kinslee Smith. Two sisters-in-law: Eleanor Beitz of Greenville, SC, and Marilyn Myers of Saginaw, MI.

Arlene joins her husband, Burdette, her parents, her brother, Ronald Beitz, her infant sister, Marylene Beitz, and brother-in-law Walter Myers, Jr. in her new heavenly home.

Because of the Covid-19 state restrictions at this time a private funeral service will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at 2pm with Rev. Michael Boyer officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
