Arlene M. Scott, age 80, recently of Caro, and formerly of Pinnebog, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. She was born on August 10, 1930 in Ishpeming to the late Theodore and Bernice (Heikkala) Smukala. Arlene was married to Earl W. Scott, a veteran of World War II, on June 16, 1949. She loved gardening and feeding the hummingbirds. She was active in her church, the Kinde Presbyterian Church. In her younger years, she had enjoyed cake decorating, sewing, crafts and drawing. She enjoyed raising her family, spending time with her friends and was a faithful Tigers baseball fan. She is survived by the love of her life for 61 years, Earl W. Scott; one son, Earl J. (Sherry) Scott; one daughter, Carol (Rob) Parker; two grandchildren, Amanda (Mike) Janisse and Tim (Crystal) Scott; one great-granddaughter, Catie Janisse; one great-grandson, Callen Scott. She is also survived by many extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Raymond and Melvin Smukala. In keeping with Arlenes wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome to visit with Earl at Heritage Hill Assisted Living, Apt. 25, Caro, MI to share condolences and memories.
