Arlene Ann Stevens, 84, of Bay Port, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe while under the care of Change of Seasons Hospice.
Arlene was born April 22, 1937 in Winsor Twp to the late Walter and Lena (Klienfelder) Wichert. She graduated from Pigeon High School in 1955. On March 26, 1955 she married Sherman F. Stevens at First Methodist Church in Pigeon.
A wonderful homemaker, she worked in the Head Start Program and the Teen Recreation Program through Bay Port School. Arlene embraced life with a great sense of humor. Always putting others first, she was kind, patient, and a great listener and advisor. A wonderful and kind mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who always made a beautiful home and life for her family. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and traveling on many trips with her husband. She loved the beach, spending time in her flower gardens and cherished time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Sherman; children Debbie (Carl) Graham of Caseville, Scott (Barbara) of Kalamazoo, and Mark (Kim) of Caro; grandchildren Nicole (Jason) Brotsky, Darrick Graham, Natalie Isham, Marianna Isham, and Jamie Hall; great-grandchildren Axel, Natalie, Jade, Jacob, and Jordyn; sister Nancy Kine of Richmond; brothers Donald (Delcie) Wichert of Pigeon and Robert (Ellamae) Wichert of Sand Point. She was preceded in death by her brother Edwin Wichert, sister-in-law Shirley Wichert, brother-in-law Jed Kine and niece Kathy Kine.
A memorial in her honor will be held at a later date. Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
