Arline Hyde

Arline “Tootie” Hyde, 80, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Northwood Meadows in Cass City, following a lingering illness. She was born March 31 1926 in Caro, the daughter of the late Charles & Hazel (Gould) Spaulding, and was a lifelong Caro resident. She was united in marriage to James C. Hyde on September 30, 1945 in Caro. James preceded her in death on June 9, 2002. Tootie enjoyed a variety of jobs during her working years with the Tuscola County Advertiser, Gold Bond Stamps, Caro Community Schools, selling real estate and her most cherished job, working at the Caro Area District Library. Tootie enjoyed being with her family, knitting, quilting, tending to her flower garden and was an avid reader. Tootie is survived by five children, Fred Hyde of Saginaw, Jeff (Deborah) Hyde of West Bloomfield, Joel (Ann) Hyde of Rockford, Jerry Hyde of Bellevue, WA, and Julie Roe of Caro; twelve grandchildren, Stephan (Abbey) Hyde, Kristi (Darrin) Brandon, Michael Hyde, Mathew Hyde, Rachel (Todd) Vanderwall, Kevin Hyde, Mary Hyde, Caroline Hyde, Samuel Hyde, Dayna Roe, Alexis Roe and Erika Roe; three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Danielle and Noah Brandon; one brother, Charles R. (Lois) Spaulding, two daughters-in-law, Debra and Sharon Hyde; one son-in-law, David Roe and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Tootie was preceded in death by her son, James R. Hyde; one brother, Clark E. Spaulding and one sister, Gloria Quinn and her husband, William Quinn.
