Arnold C. Lutat, age 88, of Chandler Twp. died Sunday morning, August 3, at Sunny Acres Nursing Center, Bad Axe.
He was born October 14, 1919 in Sebewaing, at the home of his parents, the late Walter and Ida (Menzel) Lutat.
Arnie farmed in the Sebewaing area until 1938 when they moved to Chandler Twp. He continued farming the family farm until retiring in 1986.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton and enjoyed visiting with family and friends, especially, Milt Young, Bill LaJune and Bill Fleming, who often came to see him. A major highlight of his life was when Brandon Elenbaum took him for a ride in a helicopter over the farm and the county.
Surviving are two sisters, Edna Schulz of Pigeon and Florence Iddings of Filion; sister-in-law, Martha Lutat of Deckerville; nieces and nephews, Ron and Bonnie Schulz, Dale and Chris Schulz, Wayne Schulz, Gary and Doralee Schulz, Kathy and Pat Azarovitz, Laurie and Mark, Wroblewski, David Bouverette and Sandra and Larry Kipp , also many great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his brother, Otto Lutat and sister, Hannah Bouverette.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkton. Rev. Rodney Schwab, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel from 2 to 8 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to the church.
