Arnold Rudolph Wissner

Arnold "Arnie" Rudolph Wissner, age 88, of Sebewaing, went to his heavenly home on September 2, 2017, with his family by his side at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community.

Arnie was born October 23, 1928, in Brookfield Township, son of the late Rudolph and Frieda (Neu) Wissner.

He was united in marriage to Esther Feagan on December 9, 1950.

Arnie was a lifelong member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh, where he was baptized, confirmed and married. He held various church offices as well as serving as an elder and church chairman. His faith and service to his church was a central part of his life.

Arnie was employed by Michigan Sugar Company for 41 years. He was known for his fabricating, mechanical, and operating skills. He was also a lifelong farmer, and enjoyed working outdoors. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his family. He was especially proud of his 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren. His talent for woodworking was exemplified by the intricate wooden model trucks and crafts that he made for all of them.

His family was also very important to him and he is survived by his wife, Esther; six children: Karen Wissner of Sebewaing, Gary (Mary) Wissner of Sebewaing, Kathy Olsen of Holt, Nancy Buchholz of Bay City, Tammy (Doug) Laurie of Cass City, and Lori Trapp of Ypsilanti; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and brother, Victor Wissner of Sebewaing.

Arnie is preceded in death by his infant son, Allen; 3 brothers, Roland Wissner, Harold Wissner and Raymond Wissner; 4 sisters, Ruth Dronsella, Irene Leiterman, Gertrude Wissner and Luella Wissner.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kilmanagh. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will be in the church cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be given to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Tuscola County Medical Care Facility or the Lutheran Hour.
