Arthur C. "Tom" Harrison, age 74, of Elmhurst, IL, formerly of Napervill, IL, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in Glen Ellyn, IL, after a long battle with Frontotemporal Degeneration (FTD). Tom was born January 10, 1938 in Detroit, MI to the late Claude and Violet (Hill) Harrison. They moved to Sebewaing, MI when he was a child.

He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1955. He then attended Ferris Institute of Technology in Big Rapids, MI (now Ferris State University), and graduated in 1959. He retired from a long career with GMC Trucks. He enjoyed hunting, golf and spending time with family and friends.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Janice (Lund) of Elmhurst, IL; his loving children: Thomas (Cindy) of Naperville, IL, Jeffrey (Colleen) of Elmhurst, IL, Michael (Robin) of Oak Creek, WI, Kathryn (Timothy) Wagner of Libertyville, IL and Matthew (Christy) of Enid, OK; his dearest 11 grandchildren; his sister, Francis (James) Laursen of Ellisville, MS; his brother, Charles (Sandra) of Gardner, KS; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister Alice (Ercil) Pritchard, formerly of Evart, MI.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 2-3pm with a Memorial Service at 3pm at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, 538 S. Beck St., Sebewaing, MI 48759, (989)883-2720. Burial will take place at Silverlawn Cemetery, Sebewaing, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (www.theaftd.org) of the Evans Scholars Foundation (www.wgaesf.com).
