Arthur G. Hyttinen, age 61 of Warren, died Saturday morning, October 22, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
He was born March 7, 1950, in Denver, CO to Archie and Jean (Hill) Hyttinen. He moved to Michigan with his family in 1953 and to the Detroit area in 1955, growing up in Royal Oak. He graduated from Dondero High School in 1968 then attended Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, OH for two years. When he returned to Michigan, he worked as a manager at K-Mart for 10 years. Then in 1983, he took over his father’s business, AH Pattern and Model Service, Troy retiring in 2010 for health reasons.
Art was a very social guy, who had a great wit and wonderful sense of humor, and was loved by all who knew him. He was an excellent bowler, bowling on several leagues, an avid reader of science technology, archeology and science fiction. Art enjoyed fishing, cooking and watching the Detroit Tigers and all other sports.
Surviving are his parents, Archie and Jean Hyttinen of Lake Twp.; his siblings, Douglas Hyttinen of Orlando, FL, Patricia Hyttinen of Albuquerque, NM, Lawrence Hyttinen of Abingdon, MD and Katherine Hyttinen of Vallejo, CA. and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Pastor Allen Tetzlaff will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
