Avis Marker Browning

Avis Marker Browning of Akron, age 90, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Avis was born July 23, 1925 in Akron, the daughter of the late Frank & Mellie (Wice) Turner. She was united in marriage with Loren Marker on November 2, 1946 at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed watching birds, camping, crocheting, and doing yardwork, especially on her riding lawnmower. Avis was a member of the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. Left to cherish her memory are three children and their spouses, Lana & David Bacon of New York, Eugene & Patricia Marker of Saginaw, Ronald & Karen Marker of Akron; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Watson, Heather & William Walker, Brett Marker, Todd & Kristy Marker, Brach Marker; eight great-grandchildren, Abby Osantowski, Graci Nichols and her husband, Andrew, Emily Osantowski, Ian Walker, Terrance Watson, Todd Marker, Jr., Luc Marker and Benjamin Marker. Avis was preceded in death by her two husbands, Loren Marker and John Browning; brother, Carl Turner; and sister, Lois Bourcier. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Lawther officiating. Burial will follow at Demorest Cemetery in Akron. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church.
