Axel Tyler Sherd

Axel Tyler Sherd of Unionville, our sweet, cuddly, fun, and most beloved five -year-old son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Axel was born September 30, 2017, in Bay City, the son of Cassandra Johnson and Kristoffer Sherd. Axel was a kindergarten student at Akron-Fairgrove Schools, where he loved to play with his friends outside on the playground. He had a wild imagination and the personality to prove it. Axel could light up a room with his smile and his cuddles couldn’t be beaten. He loved to drive his derby car around, get dirty playing outside, play with his pets (he had too many to count), and never turned down some nuggies. His daddy and “Blank” were his best friends, and he was his momma’s little turkey. Axel’s loving and infectious smile and soul will be missed beyond measure.

Left to cherish Axel’s memory are his mother, Cassandra Johnson (Thomas Cotton); his father, Kristoffer Sherd; siblings, Ashleigh, Seth, Ellah, Landyn, Sienna, Syrin, and Vada; grandparents, Chester & Lisa Johnson and Maureen Sherd; great-grandmother, Shirley Tacey; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Axel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Sherd; aunt, Nicole Johnson-Richie; cousin, Charlie Johnson; and pet dogs, Bruce and “The Little Dog”.
