Barbara Darling

Barbara Darling, age 84, went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2018, following five years of suffering with multiple illnesses. Mom told everyone that she knew that she was ready to go home to be with the Lord so she could be pain free. Barbara was born July 20, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Harold and Louise (McClain) Gann. On August 13, 1955, Barbara was united in marriage with Joseph Darling in Saginaw, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2010. She was a Caro High School graduate and worked for many years with Greyhound Food Service. Barbara was well-known for her good cooking and her beautiful soprano voice, and she enjoyed singing in multiple church choirs. Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses, Patrese (Duane) Hickey of Fairgrove, April (David) Duggan of Warren, Jody Darling of Bay City, and Trent Darling of Caro; five grandchildren and their spouses, David (Christy) Dell of Grand Blanc, David II (Dani) Duggan of Warren, Brian Dell of Fairgrove, September (John) Shelton of Leeds, Alabama, Robin (John) Esteb of Indianapolis, Indiana; nine great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Danielle and Amber Shelton, Elizabeth and Trinity Duggan, Levi and Harlow Dell, Scott and Ava Esteb; one sister, Margaret McLean; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by daughter, Tammy Darling; granddaughter, Sarah Bobzien; and brother, Roy Gann. "Mom will be dearly missed and loved." Funeral services will be held at the Watrousville United Methodist Church on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill Sanders and Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Burial will follow at the Juniata Township Cemetery in Watrousville. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
