Barbara M. Diller of Caseville, age 84, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Courtney Manor in Bad Axe.
Born in Caseville on March 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Twilton and Sara Mae (Grigg) Heron, and was Salutatorian of the 1946 graduating class of Bay Port High School. On March 6, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clyde W. Diller at the Kilmanagh E.U.B. parsonage. Clyde passed away on December 15, 1996.
Barb worked at the Bay Store and Reed's Fruit Market, both in Caseville, also for Scheurer Hospital and Scenic Nursing Home both in Pigeon, and was a home care nurse. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards, and especially loved her family and grandchildren. As a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church, Barb was active with the Pasty Committee.
She is survived by her daughter, Deanne Prutchick of Pigeon; two sons, Bill Diller of Pigeon and Tim Diller M.D. of Frankfort; three granddaughters, Brandi Crane of Tucson, Arizona, Emily Diller of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Nicole Diller of Amarillo, Texas; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Anklam of Pigeon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Clyde, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul Prutchick; three brothers, Thomas, Francis, and Clare Heron; and six sisters, Leona Kreh, Isabelle Kreh, Sara Jamison, Sybil Heron, Esther Stirrett, and Eva Grigg.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Rev. John Britt officiating. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Caseville United Methodist Church.
