Barbara Dunham

Barbara Dunham of Caro, age 87, passed away on her birthday, Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Barb was born December 18, 1930 in Caro, the daughter of the late Charles & Marjorie (Stock) Maupin. She was united in marriage with George E. Dunham on May 7, 1949 in Angola, Indiana, and the couple cherished more than fifty years together before his death in 1999. She was employed at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in the kitchen for nearly twenty years. Barb's spare time was often spent gardening, visiting garage sales and auctions, sewing, drawing and painting. She was a deeply devoted mother and was active in 4-H with her children. Barb is survived by five sons, three daughters and their spouses, Dennis Dunham of Caro, Fred & Terri Dunham of Frankenmuth, Bruce Dunham of Caro, Karen & Larry Shessler of Sevierville, Tennessee, Terry & Charlotte Dunham of Caro, Georgiana & Joe Earley of Columbia, Tennessee, John & Dianna Dunham of Cass City, Lisa & Tim Cockerill of Caro; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Barb was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Linda Dunham; two brothers and two sisters, Charles Maupin, James Maupin, Kathleen Lauka, and Margie Zechmeister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Pastor Dave Wilczynski officiating. Burial will follow at the Brookside Cemetery in Fairgrove. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the HDC Meals on Wheels Program, Tuscola County Medical Care Community, or the Alzheimer's Association.
