Barbara E. (Quick) Gaul of Caro, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home. Barb was born June 20, 1934 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Albert B. & Grace Pauline (Whittaker) Quick. She graduated from Caro High School and later received a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University. She was united in marriage with Gerald A. Gaul on November 5, 1955 in Caro, and he preceded her in death on February 27, 1995. Barb served as a legal secretary for the law firm of Ransford & Kern in Caro. She later took a position at the Caro Regional Center and retired from the facility as a departmental supervisor. She was a faithful member of the Caro United Methodist Church and the Democratic Party. Barb is survived by cousins, Allen & Arleta Quick of Caro, Mary "Midge" & Dale Hall of Caro, Judy Zak of Mt. Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Ross, Douglas and John Leonard, Jay Lee and Brian Salgat, and Alice Ellis; and many special friends. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her son, Mark Gaul in 2011; and sister, Pauline Leonard in 2005.In keeping with Barb's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Tony Tomasino officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro United Methodist Church.
