Barbara Lou Green

Barbara Lou (Ruggles) Green of Caro, age 86, entered into her Heavenly Home on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from her earthly home at Green's Corners (M-24 & M-46). Barbara was born November 16, 1934 to the late Bruce and Irene (Graham) Ruggles of Kingston. She was a 1952 graduate of Kingston High School and attended Michigan State College during the time when it became a university. She worked alongside her husband in the family gas station, sporting goods, and Space Age Motel. Barbara became a 4-H leader in 1965 and touched the lives of many neighborhood children, teaching them to cook, sew, garden, etiquette, character and leadership skills. She was a leader in the Pioneer Girls Club and many activities at the Caro First Baptist Church where she was a member. Barbara enjoyed puzzles, traveling, fishing, boating trips with friends, Detroit Tiger baseball and March Madness basketball games. She was an avid caretaker to elderly friends, neighbors and relatives over the years, delivering her homegrown flowers. Barbara is survived by four children and their spouses, Virgil & Ilene Green, Eileen & Cliff Doering, Irwin & Kim Green, Mary Ann & Allen Mossner; five grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon & Ashlie Doering, Aimee & Bryan Scott, Ryan & Marie Green, Michael & Shyann Green, Kelly & Andrew Blegen; three great-grandchildren, Lauren Green, Reagan Scott, and Jackson Blegen; siblings and spouses, Clayton & Virginia Ruggles, Fred & Nancy Ruggles, Arlo Ruggles, Pat & Bob Lewis; and sister-in-law, Glennadine Ruggles. In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Ruggles; and one sister-in-law, Ann Ruggles. Private family visitation and services will be held with Pastor Bryan Scott officiating. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Caro First Baptist Church or the donor's favorite charity.
