Barbara Kay Maxwell

Barbara Kay Maxwell of Caro, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City. Barb was born December 8, 1951 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Milton and Leora (Town) Rhodes, and was a graduate of Caro High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, she went on to earn her LPN degree. Barb had a great personality and could interject the perfect "zinger" at the most appropriate time. She was a connoisseur of junk food and Diet Mountain Dew, along with being selfless to a fault and always willing to help others however she could. Barb loved reading, animals, genealogy, history, NHL hockey, and took procrastination to a new level. Most importantly, she loved her family. Barb was a member of the Caro First Baptist Church and enjoyed her Bible studies. Left to cherish her memory are three children and their spouses, Dennis & Sherry Maxwell of Niota, Tennessee, Rebecca & Roger Moore of Eureka, Missouri, Sarah & Scott Wieland of Caro; ten grandchildren, Nykole, Holly, Cody, Jared, Megan, Nathan, Sidney, Christian, Daniel and David; eleven great-grandchildren; five siblings, Shirley & Rick Tuckey of Caro, Donna Rhodes of Caro, Deb Lowe of Caro, Chuck Rhodes of Owendale, Clyde & Lynn Rhodes of Owendale. In keeping with Barb's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Caro First Baptist Church with Pastor Marc Herron officiating.
