Barbara E. Sokol, age 72, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness. She was born March 24, 1935 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Casimir & Eleanor (Gronowski) Maziarz, graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to John W. Sokol on September 28, 1957 at St. Ritas Catholic Church in Saginaw, living in Caro since. Barbara was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her lifes passions were her children, grandchildren, gardening, sewing, quilting, crocheting and she was a baker extraordinaire. Barbara is survived by her dear husband of fifty years, John Sokol; five children and their spouses, George Sokol of Sterling Heights, Katherine & Peter Romain of Caro, Valerie & Milan Mrak of New York City, Steven & Kay Sokol of Gaithersburg, MD, Lynette & J. T. Kukowski of Glendale, AZ; six grandchildren, Mark and Marnie Romain, Natalie Mrak, Sarah Sokol, Maxwell and Josephine Kukowski; two brothers, two sisters and their spouses, Roseanna Campisano living in Nebraska, Jerome C. & Sally Maziarz of East Tawas, Phyllis & Ed Grey of Saginaw, Tim & Sue Maziarz of East Tawas and several nieces and nephews.
