Barry Clark Bolger

Barry C. Bolger, age 62, of Centerville, Georgia, formerly of Sebewaing, MI was born March 12, 1951 in Bay City, MI and was the youngest son of the late Christian and Marian nee Martini Bolger. He passed away peacefully on February 28, 2014 with his wife Katherine nee Jahr at his bedside holding his hand. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanual Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, MI. At the age of 12, he started working with his father for International Harvester. He graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1969. Barry's career started working for Gettel's Inc. in Sebewaing, MI. In 1984, he moved from Sebewaing, to Northville, MI and worked for Eastman Kodak Company for 29 years and was most recently employed by Tyonek Manufacturing Company in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Barry was united in marriage to his beloved wife Katherine Lacey Jahr, June 3, 1972, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Sebewaing, MI. Marrying his high school sweetheart was among his proudest life moments.

Surviving him are his wife, Katherine; daughter Marci L. nee Bolger Augenstein, Ph. D. and husband Jeremy H. Augenstein of Commerce Township, MI; son Jason C. Bolger and wife Rosalind M. nee Campbell-Blight Bolger of Phoenixville, PA. Grandchildren: Mitchell C. Augenstein, Henry C. Augenstein, and Scarlet F. Bolger. A sister, Marel nee. Bolger Staisil, of Sebewaing, MI, and brother, Donald Bolger of Durand, MI. Sister and brother in-law Geraldine and Wilbert Burley of Plymouth, MI, Brother and sister-in-law Tom and Joyce Jahr of Sebewaing, MI, and brother and sister-in-law Stuart and Dawn Jahr of Bay City, MI. Surviving nieces and nephews include: Michele and Chris Detombeur, Michael Staisil, Benjamin Bolger, Krista and Steve Hinderer, Scott Jahr, Amy Burley, Heather Jahr, and Zachary Jahr. He is also survived by numerous cousins.

Preceding him in death are parents, Christian and Marian Bolger, parents in-law Tom and Lorraine Jahr, brother-in-law Howard Staisil, and nephew Chaz Burley.

Barry was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 49 and survived for the past 14 years – the past 12 years being cancer free. His passion for life was evident and a wonderful example for his children and all who knew him. He and his wife Kathy moved to Miami, Florida following his radiation and chemotherapy treatments and they never once looked back. Barry and Kathy enjoyed traveling and have visited several countries in the past 12 years, frequently enjoying Marriott and Delta upgrades. The time he spent with his three grandchildren was priceless and valued more than any upgrade he ever received.

Visitation will be at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, in Sebewaing on Monday, March 3, from 4-8 p.m.

Service will be at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home, on Tuesday, March 4. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10am until the time of service at 11 a.m.

Internment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in the spring.
