Beatrice W. Havrilla

August 20, 1925 — February 25, 2005

Beatrice W. Havrilla, age 79, of Caseville, formerly of East Detroit, died February 25, 2005 at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon of pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis. She was born August 20, 1925 in Detroit to the late Edward and Olga Schultz.

Beatrice grew up in Detroit and graduated from East Detroit High School in 1943 as the salutatorian. She married Dale E. Havrilla on July 21, 1946 in Detroit. She was employed by Schemm Insurance and Moldenhauer Insurance, both of East Detroit. In 1982 she moved to Caseville and worked at Kauffold Insurance, only retiring in January of this year. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Caseville and a former member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in East Detroit. She always had a positive attitude and followed the silver lining in the clouds.

Beatrice is survived by her husband of 59 years Dale; children of David of Okemos, James (Carol) of Eastpointe, Nancy (Ray) Hellowell of Cadillac, Tom (Tommie) of Slidell, Louisiana and Gary of Laurel, Maryland; grandchildren David, Christie, Robert, Todd, Brandon, Megan, Angie, Shane, Bo, Rachel, and Chad Havrilla and Brad, Lori and Lindsay Hellowell; great-grandchildren Paetyn, Cole, Tate and Reid. She was preceded in death by her sister Eleanor Walker.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Sunday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Caseville. Visitation will be from Noon to 2:00 PM Sunday at the Church. Arrangements by Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville. Memorials may be made to the church.
