Beatrice E. Hill, age 89, of Elkton, died Monday morning, July 30, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility, Bad Axe.
She was born July 12, 1918, in Bach to the late Joseph and Anna (Ewald) Roth and graduated from Elkton High School in 1937. On October 2, 1938, she was united in marriage to Robert S. Hill at the First Presbyterian Church, Bad Axe. He preceded her in death April 18, 1962.
Bea was employed as a cook at the Elkton Dairy Bar and later at the Bella Vista. In September of 1964, began working as a cook at the Laker High School and retired in June of 1984.
She enjoyed knitting crocheting, playing cards and scrabble. She loved having her family around her especially the little ones. Bea was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Lewis (Janet Hill of Pigeon, Kathleen (Tom) Meagher of Royal Oak, Patricia (Neil) Brawn of Essexville, Barbara (Bill) Lackie of Filion, Stephen (Lynn) Hill of Pigeon and Jeri Herron of Holt; 14 grandchildren, Kim, Todd, Joe, Troy, Anne, Kel, Marc, Ben, Brad, Briana, Shawn, J.D., Michelle and Morgan; 11 great grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, Rachelle, Chelsea, Kaitlyn, Emalee, Kelsey, Tommy, Owen, Tyler and Kate. Also surviving, special niece, Sue Gottschalk of Bad Axe; her sister, Opal Dufty of Gotts Corner and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a son, Rob; son-in-law, Robert Dubey Jr; two brothers, Kieth and Jerry Roth and three sisters, Arleta Forster, Ruth Wagnar and Joan Dean.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, August 2, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. Rev. David Collins, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Elkton.
Friends may call at the champagne Funeral chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Wednesday and at the church after 10 AM Thursday.
Memorials may be given to the church.
