Belva Ann Kuhl, age 85, of Sebewaing, passed away Saturday evening, September 19, 2015, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon.
Belva was born November, 19, 1929, in Sanilac County, the daughter of the late Otto and Elizabeth (Alexander) Dorland. She married Lloyd Kuhl on May 8, 1953, at Mizpah Missionary Church in Sanilac County. He preceded her in death on February 6, 2006.
Belva was the President of the United Methodist Women, Secretary and Treasurer of Huron Medical Care Facility Auxilary, member of Kilmanagh United Methodist Church, and former 4-H leader in sewing. She had a passion for sewing, quilting, knitting, cooking, making a secret family bbq sauce, baking and catering meals. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.
Belva is survived by her children and their spouses: Melvin (Marjorie) Kuhl of Sebewaing, Rodney (Kathie) Kuhl of Chesaning, Susanne (Bob) Niedrich of Birch Run, Sheila (Jeff) Gallow of Kernersville, NC, and Philip (Beth) Kuhl of Sebewaing; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley (Roy) Wagg and Lois (Newell) Harris; sisters-in-law: Alberta Cagle, Lorrine Kuhl, Marian Kuhl and Donna Dorland.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; infant daughter, Jennifer Kuhl; infant twin grandsons, Aaron and Adam Kuhl; brothers: Dwain, Newell, Otis and Chester Dorland; and sisters: Ruth Coller and Eleanor Hurley.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 1-9PM.
The funeral service will be Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Kilmanagh United Methodist Church (Stein Rd. & Bay Port Rd.). Visitation will begin at the church at 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
Burial will take place following the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing.
Memorial donations may be given to Kilmanagh United Methodist Church – Memorial Fund or Bay Shore Camp – Campership Fund.
