Benjamin Charles "Chuck" Olmstead

Benjamin Charles "Chuck" Olmstead, age 94, died peacefully on November 26, 2016. Born, June 4, 1922, Chuck was united in marriage with the former Celia Bender on February 14, 1946, and she proceeded him in death on April 25, 2006. Chuck moved to Barefoot Bay, Florida from Allegan, Michigan in the 1980's. He is survived by his daughters, Adelia "Dolly" Jones and her husband, Allen, of Michigan, Beverly Fletcher and her husband, Bill of Grant, Florida. Chuck is also survived by four granddaughters, Kyle, Kisha, Janelle and Jennifer, all from Michigan; seven great-grandchildren; and friend, Teresa. In addition to outdoor activities and rock polishing, Chuck was an avid bowler. Finally, he was a strong man of faith. Chuck, always active in his church, served in various capacities in both Michigan and Florida. A memorial service will be held at the Moose Lodge, 9250 US 1 Sebastian, Florida, on December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the VNA Hospice, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, Florida 32960, the Tuscola Imagination Library, c/o Dolly Jones, 572 Meadow Drive, Caro, Michigan 48723, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
