Bernard "Bernie" Cleon Dennis

Bernard “Bernie” Cleon Dennis of Caro, age 89, passed away on June 14, 2025 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. He was born September 24, 1935 in Caro, the son of the late Cleon and Evelyn (Robison) Dennis. Bernie graduated from Caro High School and went on to work at General Motors, retiring as a machine repairman. He was united in marriage with Barbara J. LaPratt on February 18, 1994 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Caro. Together they shared twenty-four wonderful years and countless memories. Sadly, she passed on September 9, 2018. Bernie was also a farmer, raising cattle and farming hay. Bernie loved anything to do with hunting, fishing, and camping.

Bernie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce & Shelly Dennis; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles & Gail, Charlotte, and Evelyn; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Bernie was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Dennis and sisters, Florence and Karen.

In keeping with Bernie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and burial will take place at Juniata Township Cemetery.
