Bernardine H. Milby, age 77, of Caseville, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw
Bernardine was born October 25, 1932 in Plains, Pennsylvania to the late Louis and Helen Sitar. She met James Milby while they were both on vacation in Atlantic City in 1955. They were married on April 14, 1956 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Together they moved to Michigan where they settled in Warren and raised their family. In 1988 they retired to Caseville and enjoyed spending the winters in Gold Canyon, Arizona.
She was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. She was a gifted artist, having won many awards for her paintings.
She is survived by her husband James; son Mark (Peggy) of Fraser, Gregory (Maritas) of San Marcos, Calif, and Timothy of Warren; grandchildren John, Roxanne, Joshua and James; brother Edward (Noreen) Sitar of New Jersey and sisters Mary Seasock, Dorothy (Philip) Stortz and Patricia (Carmen) Marsit, all of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary and brother Louis Sitar.
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 28th at St. Felix Catholic Church with Rev. John Weis presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 pm Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. She will lie in-state one hour prior to the mass on Tuesday in Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
