Bernice Ruth Hedley

Bernice Ruth Hedley, age 88, of Unionville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday evening, January 12, 2015.

Bernice was born, April 26, 1926, in Sebewaing, daughter of the late Elmer and Martha (Kraus) Koch. She married Donald Hedley on April 27, 1942, in Caro. Together they owned and operated Hedley Equipment in Caro. Bernice enjoyed cooking, baking pies traveling and working crossword puzzles. She and Donald enjoyed over 30 years of vacationing at their second home in Arizona during the winters. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Donald; children: Barry (Sally) Hedley and Suzanne (Larry) Kohl, Kim (Kim) Hedley and Bryon (Sheila) Hedley; grandchildren: Amie Rowe, Michael (Lisa) Hedley, Deana (Mike) Cramer, Kara Neal, Marni Kohl, Ryan (Mandy) Kohl, Kori Hedley, Kristi (Casey) Gaeth, Sam (Jenna) Shaw and Nathan Hedley; 13 great grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy Kundinger, Jeanette (Richard) Weinberg, Bob (Audrey) Koch; and many nieces and nephews.

Bernice is preceded in death by her sister, Marion Brady; and brother-in-laws: Robert Brady and Thomas Kundinger.

The visitation and service will be on Friday, January 16, 2015, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 9am until the time of service at 4pm.

Cremation will take place after the service. Burial of her cremains will take place at the Columbia Twp. Cemetery at a later date.
