Bessie Rose Hands

Bessie R. Hands, age 89 of Grant Twp. formerly of Mt Clemens died at her home Monday afternoon August 27, of heart failure.
She was born February 21, 1918 in Detroit to the late Theodore and Erna (Schultz) Hoevel.
On August 19 1939, she was united in marriage to Dee J. Hands in Port Huron, he preceded her in death September 15, 1976.
Mrs. Hands began spending her summers with her daughter in Grant Twp shortly after her husband died and wintered in Florida until 2002, when her health began to fail.
Surviving is her daughter, Judy Zimmer of Grand Twp.; a granddaughter; two great granddaughters; two step grandchildren; a step great grandson and her brother-in-law, Douglas Purdy of New Baltimore. Preceding her in death was her son-in-law Melvin Zimmer.
Funeral services will be conducted 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton where friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday. Graveside services will be 12 noon Thursday at Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
