Bette J. Horn age 94 of McKinley Twp near Pigeon passed away Monday evening, April 20, at her home while under hospice care.
She was born November 30, 1920 in Port Austin Twp. to the late Anthony and Florence (Thompson) Snay, grew up in Chandler Twp. and attended Elkton High School Class of 1940.
On September 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Roy E. Horn at the Otisville Methodist Church. They made their home in McKinley Twp. where they raised their family.
She began working at Scheurer Hospital in 1960 as a nurse’s aide, retiring in 1984, with 23 years of service.
Bette was a member of Hayes United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, was very active in the Pigeon VFW auxiliary and enjoyed gardening especially flowers.
Surviving are three children, Bill (Ginger) Horn of Las Vagas, NV, Tom Horn and Gail Krenz both of McKinley Twp.; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a great great grandson and a brother, Bill Snay of Harrison.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Roy on November 14, 2000, son-in-law, Donald Krenz, also two brothers, Floyd and Lyle Snay.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, April 24, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Rev. Brian Johnson, pastor of Hayes United Methodist Church will officiate with burial in Caseville Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Thursday and after 10 AM Friday.
