Betty Jane Bolda, age 69 of Bay Port, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, January 12, 2013 at her home with her family at her bedside. She had been battling cancer and under the care of her family as well as hospice.
She was born in Fairhaven Township on April 16, 1943 and was the daughter of the late George Arthur and Alice Marie (Boise) Deming. On January 20, 1962 she and Michael J. Bolda were united in marriage at St. Francis Borgia Catholic in Pigeon.
Betty enjoyed having and going to garage sales and going to the casino. She once won a Pontiac Firebird. She would read through her cookbooks with her friends and watch the Food Network - then prepare special recipes for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Michael of Bay Port; three daughters, Lori (Mark) Schooley of Bay Port; Cindy Bolda of Bay Port, and Michelle (Don) Osentoski of Menasha, Wisconsin; a son, Michael Bolda of Pigeon; seven grandchildren: Steven, Matthew, Mariah, Kennedy, Landen, Kenna, and Jake; a sister, Shirley Choate of Romeo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, in 1987; a sister June Deming; and three brothers, Joe, Art, and Robert Deming.
The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Meyersieck-Bussema Funeral Home, Pigeon, with Rev. Alger Lewis officiating. Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be made to her grandchildren's education fund.

Tuesday, January 15, 2013 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
