Betty Brklacich

Betty Brklacich, age 82, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 1, 2014, with her family by her side at Vadavilla AFC Home in Unionville.

She was born February 22, 1932 to Gilbert and Mabel (Springer) McDade in Mt. Pleasant.

On May 5, 1951, she was united in marriage to Edward Brklacich in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2013.

Betty taught at St. Mary's in Rockwood before moving to Sebewaing, where she taught at USA Elementary School for many years.
She actively supported her husband in all of his projects and activities. Betty enjoyed spending time up north at the cabin, playing the piano, playing a round of golf and directing choirs for The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a member. She was a very giving and loving person and thoroughly enjoyed caring for her family.

Betty is survived by her loving children: Mary Ziehm, Karen (Tom) Tucker and Nancy (Tom) Betson; she is the proud grandmother of Todd Ziehm, Andrea (Derek) Howard, Melissa Mellendorf, Jodi Tucker, Shari (Corey) Groening, Michelle (Rob) Bitz, Matthew (Melanie) Tucker, Kimberly (Steve) Deneen, Kristine (Chris) Alexander and Thomas (Ashley) Betson; and dearest great grandmother of: Addison, Noah, Brooke, Zachary, Cole, Cooper, Chase, Brady, Bella, Shiloh, Samuel, Breanna, Tyler, Isabelle, Lexie, Reid, Ryan, Rylie, Cierra and soon to be Alivea.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-8pm.

The funeral service is Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

The family is honoring her wishes of cremation following the service.

Memorial donations may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church in Sebewaing.
