Betty Jean Brown

Betty Jean Brown of Caro, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living. She was born July 23, 1936 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the daughter of the late Norman G. and Oma (Roberts) Brown, Sr. Betty graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1954 and then went on to obtain a degree in nursing from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She returned to Caro for a few years before moving to New Orleans to work at their VA Hospital. After one too many hurricanes, Betty moved back to Michigan and started work at the VA Hospital in Allen Park, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Caro United Methodist Church and lovingly known as the "go-to" aunt. Betty loved to read and was a big fan of a library. Her quiet and reserved nature will be remembered dearly by all who knew her. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Patricia Turner, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Bobbie Brinkman, Peggy Putnam Marker, Agnes Jayne, and Norman Brown, Jr. In keeping with Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
