Betty L. Ewald, age 90, passed away August 20, 2025 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro.
Betty was born on November 7, 1934, in Unionville, to Albert and Minnie (Menzel) Niedrich. After graduating from high school, she married Duane Ewald on February 19, 1955, in Sebewaing. First and foremost, Betty was a wife and mother. She was a wonderful homemaker and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Betty was also very active in her church and the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed bowling and was an avid card player.
Betty is survived by her children: Ronald (Karen) Ewald, Rick (Christy) Ewald, Karen (Mark) Fischer and Roger Ewald; grandchildren: Kristin Ewald, Kalie (Jacob) LaPratt, Nick (fiancé Emalee) Ewald, Ryan Ewald, Tayler Ewald, Joel (Janel) Fischer and Jared (Lauren) Fischer; 5 great grandchildren: Natalie, Cade, Quinn, Jake and Luke; brother, Harvey (Mary) Niedrich; sister-in-law, Kay Niedrich; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings: Doris (Arnold) Werschky, Don (Esther) Niedrich and Gerald "Bud" Niedrich.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 3-7pm.
The funeral service will be Thursday, August 28, 2025 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Pastor Steve Stolarczyk will be officiating. Burial will take place privately.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Tuscola County Medical Care Community and Wellspring Hospice for their wonderful care.
Memorial donations may be given to Wellspring Hospice or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
