Betty Johnson

Betty Ann Johnson, age 68, of Caro died on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Covenant Health Care-Cooper in Saginaw. She was born on August 28, 1942 in Cass City to the late Lester and Ruth (Brown) Alderfer. Betty was a lifelong resident of Tuscola County. On August 4, 1962 she was united in marriage to Frank Johnson, Jr. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. Betty was a homemaker, mother, and wife who enjoyed playing cards and participating in selling at the farmers market. She enjoyed her family and making cookies for her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her husband, Frank; two sons, Michael Johnson of Caro and Duane Johnson of Caro; her siblings, Richard (Adeline) Birkenmeier of Archbold, Ohio, Norma Johnson of Flint, and Clifford Thomas Alderfer of Caro; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Irving Birkenmeier, Paul Chambers, and Robert Chambers. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will be at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Betty Johnson family discretionary fund, c/o Frank Johnson Jr., 302 S.
