Betty Helen Luther, age 90, of Unionville, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020, at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro.
Betty was born in Sebewaing on December 31, 1929, to Martin and Helen (Wagner) Roenisch. After graduating from Sebewaing High School, she married Donald Luther on October 21, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Betty worked as a cook for the Unionville-Sebewaing Area Schools. She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, playing dominos, puzzles, camping, fishing, bowling, and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville where she enjoyed the church Bible study, Ladies Aid and LWML.
Betty is survived by her children: Pam (Roger) Gnagey of Deford, Sherrye (Donald) Woodworth of Benbrook, TX and Michele (Rick) Slack of Cass City; grandchildren: Kristy Gnagey, Rob (Michelle) Gnagey, Kedron (Beth) Woodworth, Kaylee Woodworth, Aaron (Jody) Barrigar, Jason (Megan) Barrigar and Ashley (Steve) Stellard; 14 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Dennis Martin; and siblings: Dorothy (Elmer) Winter, Howard Roenisch, Raymond (Myrtle) Roensich and Alice (Ray) Swenson.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 12 noon-4pm.
The funeral service will be Monday, October 19, 2020, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be at Hickory Island Cemetery in Akron Twp.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Christ the King Lutheran School.
