Betty Jo Novak, age 59, passed away at Hills and Dales Hospital on Saturday, December 29, 2012. She was born September 14, 1953, the daughter of the late William Millard and Betty Inez (Wade) Powell in Seminole County, Georgia. Betty was united in marriage with Michael Novak November 4, 1972 in Pontiac. She was employed as a home care worker. Betty enjoyed helping others, crafts, cooking, spending time in thrift stores and Bingo. Betty is survived by her husband of forty years, Michael; two daughters, Angel of Gladwin and Danielle of Great Falls, Montana; two grandchildren, Tesa and Bret Bigelow; three brothers, Dennis (Terry Fenningdorf), Tom and Richard Powell; two sisters and their husbands, Pauline & John Fitzpatrick and Shelby & Mike Peters; step-father, Roy Koop; a sister-in-law, Pam Powell; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William Millard Powell and Betty Inez Koop. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Chaplain Donald Ault of Hospice Advantage officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Family Discretionary Fund.
