Betty Marie Price

Betty Marie Price of Caro, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at her home in Caro. She was born September 13, 1938 in Caro, the daughter of the late Jerome and Marguerite (Stapleton) Cottrell. Betty was united in marriage with Donald R. Price on October 29, 1959, and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2013. She was employed as an attendant nurse by the State of Michigan at the Caro Regional Center, retiring in 1994. Known for her many baking treats, Betty was also always willing to help others in need. She enjoyed playing cards, watching and feeding birds, and working in her flower gardens. Betty looked forward to her trips to New York City, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren wherever they lived. Betty is survived by two children and their spouses, (Sheryl) Genevieve & Michael Griffin of New York City, and Patrick & Kimberly Price of Caro; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Michael J., Emma and Margaret Griffin, all of New York City, Kira & Joe Turner of Caro, Ben Price living in Arizona, David & Liz Groosbeck of Caro, Jarrett Price of Caro; four great-grandsons, Brexten and Jaxen Groosbeck and Taylen and Treyson Turner; two sisters, Frances Wilson and Margaret McAlpine and her husband, Roy; one brother and his wife, Jerry & Tiny Cottrell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her in-laws, Ralph and Aileen (Seeley) Price; one sister, Sandra Jacot; and one brother-in-law, Larry Wilson. In respect of her wishes, Betty has been cremated. A memorial service to honor Betty's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided at the Colwood United Brethren Church in Caro immediately following the service at the funeral home.
