Betty Ann Schuetz, 89, of Caseville, died Sunday, May 11, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas while under hospice care at her son's home.
Betty was born in Peru, Indiana on February 18, 1925 to the late Jacob and Mabel (Shadinger) Wagoner. She married Wilfred Schuetz on March 5, 1949 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1995.
She raised her six children before returning to work as a Registered Nurse in psychiatric nursing, retiring as the Director of Nursing at Clinton Valley Center. She retired when her husband could no longer work due to WWII injuries and they moved to Caseville. She was a member of the Caseville United Methodist Church. In 2010 she moved to San Antiono, though she still spent as much time as she was able at her home in Caseville. She was a “master knitter.”
She is survived by her children Randy (Susan) of Texas, Mark (Sue) of Colorado, Gaylyn (Karl) Kaufman of Madison Heights, Paul (Elsa) of California and Holly (Bernie) Mares of Colorado and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Scott.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, May 17th at the Caseville United Methodist Church with Rev. Linda Fuller officiating.
Visitation will be 3-6 pm Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville.
Memorials may be made to the Caseville United Methodist Church.
