Betty was born May 27, 1937 in Bay City to the late Walter and Frieda (Bauer) Kuch. Betty was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Frankenlust. She graduated from Handy High School in 1955. She married Leslie Singer on March 8, 1963 and they celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2017. Their marriage was a blessing and great example to their children and grandchildren of what a loving marriage is. Betty was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Unionville and a member of the church's Care and Share group. Prior to marriage and raising a family, Betty was employed at Industrial Brownhoist in Bay City. Betty was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling in her younger days, sewing, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to all the school activities and sporting events. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her world. She always made family gatherings special with her games and baking. She was the family's #1 supporter and helper whenever needed. She loved crafts and gardening and was a member of the Herb and Historical Societies in Bay City. With the flowers and herbs she grew, she made beautiful wreaths which she would sell at many craft shows. She and Les enjoyed polka dancing with friends and rarely missed a polka dance.
Betty is survived by her 3 daughters: Angela (Daren) Nitz of Sebewaing, Natalie (Jeff) Anker of Unionville, and Sandra Gettel of Unionville; 9 grandchildren: Megan (Jon) Grady, Ryan Nitz, Garret Nitz, Cole Anker, Taylor (Kevin) Vermeersch, Brayden Anker, Jonathan (Amanda) Slack, Macklin Gettel and Conner Gettel; 4 great grandchildren: Isla, Anna, Avery, Jace, and baby V on the way; brother, Vernon Kuch of Bay City; and many nieces and nephews.
