Beverly Ann Rinker

Beverly Ann Rinker of Caro, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 1, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born December 9, 1937 in Elkland, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Hugh Charles and Luva Ione (Wilcox) Shumway. On June 30, 1956, Beverly was united in marriage to the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Richard Eugene Rinker, in Elmira, New York. Their marriage was blessed with more than sixty years and many cherished memories. Sadly, Dick passed away on January 27, 2018.

Beverly worked as an associate at J.C. Penney and then was the very first hostess at McDonald’s in Caro when it opened. She later dedicated several years of service to People’s State Bank. A devoted member of the Caro Moose Lodge and Caro United Methodist Church, Beverly led the women’s circle for many years and remained active, always ready to lend a hand whenever possible. She enjoyed playing euchre and Yahtzee and was always up for a visit to the casino. An avid garage sale enthusiast, Beverly had a talent for finding exactly what you needed. She loved cruising the neighborhood on her golf cart, checking in on friends or simply waving hello. Above all, Beverly was a steadfast, caring presence in the lives of many—always there for those in need and a loving, devoted "mom" to so many.

Beverly leaves to cherish her memory her children, Ronda Timmins (Harold Lowe) of Caro, Kevin Rinker and wife, Kelli, of Pasadena, Maryland, Mike Rinker and wife, Dawn Salak of Lake Alfred, Florida, Darcie Asher of Tucson, Arizona; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cassie Buyze; sons-in-law, Garry Timmins and Tony Asher; and her sisters, Donna and Sandy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Demyanovich and Rev. Michele Hile officiating. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Caro United Methodist Church or McLaren Hospice.
