Bill Thompson

Bill H. Thompson of Waterford, age 66, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at home, surrounded by his loving wife, Claudette; and three of his children; William, Danielle, and Jeremy.

Bill was born June 16, 1959 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Thompson. He grew up in Flint and spent his early adulthood in the Wellston, Michigan area, where he met the Fairbanks brothers, Jeff (Val) and Mark, and shared many wild and crazy times. After several adventures, Bill moved to Hale, Michigan.

While working in Oscoda at ITT Automotive, Bill met Claudette, the love of his life and wife of thirty years. After they were married, they made their home in Mikado, where they built a life together.

Bill’s greatest joys included hunting, fishing, gardening and canning, planting flowers and trees, and being outdoors enjoying nature. He especially loved camping, grilling, and smoking food.

He will be remembered for his wit and sense of humor, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to help anyone whenever possible. Bill deeply loved his wife and children and was known for his memorable baby blue eyes and distinct chin dimple. He will be missed very much.

Bill was survived by his wife of thirty years, Claudette; seven children, Devin, William (Jesse), Amanda (Dan), Danielle, Jeremy (Amber), Heather, and Adam; twelve grandchildren, Audreaunna, Ashley (Justice), Mahalia, Daniel, Ryan, Haven, Uriah, Camden, Gracie, Dalton, RJ, and Marlissa; and six great-grandchildren, Carmynn, Evelynn, Lucas, Ilona, Ophelia, and Estelle. He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey; step- father, James; and siblings, Melissa and Jim.

A Celebration of Life cookout with camping, bonfires, and time together in Bill’s memory is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Claudette Thompson.
