Birdie Lou Heintz, 72, a lifelong resident of Pigeon went to be with her Lord Jesus on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Ascension St. Mary Hospital in Saginaw.

Birdie was born on May 7, 1950 in Bad Axe to the late Ethel Soper and Bill Cove. She graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1969. On November 13, 1971, she was united in marriage to Richard Floyd Heintz in Bad Axe; he preceded her in death October 9, 2016. Along with raising her two daughters, Birdie dedicated 38 years to taking care of others at Scheurer Hospital, retiring in March 2020. Birdie loved to be outside in her pool. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and even going to the casino for a weekend getaway.

Surviving are her two daughters, Katrena Metz (Mark Wolschlager) of Bad Axe and Jennifer (Chris) Eden of Fenton; five grandchildren Michael, Ashley, Kyle, Matthew and Chloe; great-grandchildren Olyvia, Sawyer, Reid and Elliane; sister Lavina Musall; aunt Donna Brandow and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Richard Heintz; parents Ethel and Bill; brothers William Cove, Douglas Cove, and Frank Prill; and sisters Roselee Prill, Judy Cove and Joann Essenmacher.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Tuesday, November 22nd at Evangel Life Assembly of God in Bad Axe with Rev. Cyle Harless officiating.  Burial will be in Grand Lawn Cemetery, Pigeon.  Visitation will be 1-8pm Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service at church.
