Blaine Thomas McGowan of Caro, age 36, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Covenant Medical Center – Cooper in Saginaw. Blaine was born October 19, 1988 in Wyandotte, the son of Kelly (McGowan) Cook. After graduating from high school, Blaine explored a variety of different career paths including construction and farming. His greatest joy, however, was being behind the wheel as an over-the-road truck driver.
Blaine had a zest for life and a fearless spirit. He loved riding motorcycles, watching superhero movies, gathering with friends around a bonfire, and was a lifelong Star Wars fan. A true history buff and proud daredevil, he never shied away from a challenge. Blaine’s adventurous streak was matched by his quick wit, often summed up in his own famous words: “Sometimes you just got to let the intrusive thoughts win.”
Left to cherish Blaine’s memory are his son, Wyatt McGowan; mother, Kelly Cook; stepfather, Robert Cook; the father that raised him, Arthur Furgerson; and too many beloved friends to list.
In keeping with Blaine’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family, c/o Kelly Cook, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
