Bonnie Lou Brinkman of Cass City, age 87, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City. Bonnie was born March 6, 1934 at home in Akron Township, the daughter of the late Jacob "Jake" and Millie (Ruppal) Jacoby. Bonnie graduated from Unionville High School, Class of 1952. It was in high school Bonnie met the love of her life, Jack D. Brinkman. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage September 27, 1952. Together they shared over sixty-nine blessed years, three wonderful children, and countless memories. You could always find Bonnie helping out on the family farm, from collecting the eggs of their 8,000 chickens, to driving the beet trucks or hoeing the fields. She was strong-willed and had a heart of gold. Bonnie enjoyed going out in the boat, fishing, and watching the Detroit Tigers. She was an avid bingo player and a champion bowler and golfer. Above all, Bonnie's family was the light of her life; she made sure to never miss a sporting event whether it was for her children or grandchildren, Bonnie was there to cheer them on. Her sassy, loving, and thoughtful way will be missed for years to come. Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Jack; children, James (Jeanne) Brinkman and Kaye (Walt) Swiastyn; grandchildren, Austin (Heather) Brinkman, Anthony Brinkman, Corbin (Allison) Swiastyn, and Katie (Courtney) Kemp; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Kennedy, and Jackson Swiastyn, Kyle and Konner Kemp; sister, Betty (Robert) Brinkman; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Jacoby; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Bonnie was welcomed home to heaven by her infant daughter, Deborah Kay Brinkman; and siblings, Bertha Houthoofd and James Jacoby. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Unionville Moravian Church in Unionville. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Unionville Moravian Church.
