Bonnie Lee Morton

Bonnie Lee Morton of Caro, age 82, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at McLaren Flint Hospital. Bonnie was born July 1, 1941 in Caro, the daughter of the late Thomas Russell & Marjorie Elaine (Robinson) Lawry. She lived with the love of her life and companion, James Spencer, for fifty-five years before his passing in 2018. Bonnie had a zest for life, loved nature, and never missed an opportunity to go fishing. She was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge and enjoyed playing Bingo, visiting the casino where she could play slots, summers at Grindstone, and reminiscing with friends and family over a friendly game of cards.

Left to cherish Bonnie’s memory are two daughters, Bonita Taylor and Jody Faith (Randall) Mills; three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister and her husband, Tammy & Frank Buschbacher; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and James, Bonnie was preceded in death by two children, Dawn Tyonia Morton and Jessie James Weihl; two siblings, Gary Lawry and Sandra Ellison; two grandchildren, James Allen Jackson and Jeremy Weihl.

In keeping with Bonnie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a springtime memorial service will be announced at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Caro Moose Lodge.
