Bonnie Lou Voss

Bonnie Lou Voss of the Akron-Fairgrove area, age 99, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 6, 2026 while surrounded by her family. She was born April 7, 1927 in Akron, the daughter of the late Morris and Alice (Kramer) Morton. Bonnie graduated from Akron High School with the class of 1945. During their high school years, John B. Voss began courting Bonnie, and their relationship continued as he went on to serve his country in the Navy.

After John returned home, he and Bonnie married on August 29, 1946, in Elkton. They went on to share more than seventy-two years of marriage, building a lifetime of memories side by side until John passed away on January 8, 2019.

For much of her life, Bonnie devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. She took great pride in caring for those she loved, especially through her cooking and baking. Among her many specialties, Bonnie became well known for her apple pie. Her recipe became a family favorite and remains part of her legacy, still being made and enjoyed by many today.

Bonnie was a Domestic Service Aide at the Caro Center, where she remained for ten years before retiring. Bonnie brought the same hardworking and caring nature she had shown while raising her family into her work each day.

Bonnie and John were also very active members of the Akron United Methodist Church and were involved with the Fairgrove VFW. Together, they supported both their church and community by lending a hand at numerous events and gatherings. Bonnie could often be found in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for others to gather around and enjoy.

Bonnie will be remembered for her kind and caring nature, her devotion to her family, and the love she so freely shared with those around her. She had a special way of bringing people together, often around a table filled with something she had lovingly prepared. Above all, she will be remembered for the love she had for her family, the faith that guided her throughout her life, and the many memories she leaves behind for those who loved her.

Left to cherish Bonnie’s memory are her daughter, Sally (Brad Krug) Voss; grandchildren, Karrie (Jesse) Sias and David (Veronica) Roller; great-grandchildren, Colby (Courtney) Sias, Alec (Christina) Sias, Shelby (Brady) McKneely, and John Voss Roller; niece, Christine Johnson; nephew, Dennis Morton; and her beloved dog, Gizmo. In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by by her daughter, Carolyn Roller; and brother, Connie Morton.

Bonnie will be privately laid to rest at Demorest Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Cass River Pet Friendz or a charity of the donor’s choice.
