Bruce Tallman, age 67, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at his residence with his family and friends at his side. Bruce was born March 27, 1945 in Cadillac, the son of the late Osro and Hazel (Wilson) Tallman. Bruce was a graduate of Manton High School and after graduation he came to Caro and lived and worked with his brother Andy Tallman. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he drove truck for a period of time and worked with his brother again. In the 1980s, he founded S&B Auto which he operated until his retirement in 2009. On September 15, 1984 he was united in marriage to Linda (Oakes) Gibbons at the Caro United Methodist Church. He loved being with his grandchildren, playing Euchre, hunting and riding his Harley Davidson. He was an avid member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1049 serving in many positions, including Michigan State President. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #7. Bruce is survived by his wife, Linda; four daughters, Carrie (Rudy) Sepeda of Bay City, Michelle Gibbons of Caro, Judy (Jeff) Osterberg of Pleasant Lake, and Kelly (Chuck) Woodruff of Cass City; eight grandchildren, Megan, Thomas, Gabriellia, Katherine, Joaquin, Jillian, Jarrett, and Jonathon; his siblings, Hiram Tallman and Winnie (Dale) Bridson, all of Fife Lake; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Tallman and Jessie Tallman; several nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Tuttle, Helen Babich, Marvin Tallman, Irene Baron, Grace Carpenter, Kenneth Tallman, Marion Goodin and Andrew Tallman. The funeral will be held at the Colwood United Brethren Church on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Wester of the Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery with military honors rendered by the U.S. Army and the Caro American Legion Post #7. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. A Moose Pilgrim Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moose Family Scholarship Fund in Memory of Bruce Tallman.
