Bruno Arsenault, age 86, of Bay Port, died Friday July 8th, 2005 at his home while under hospice care.
Bruno was born October 7, 1918 in Montreal, Quebec to the late J. Louis and Oriana (Magnan) Arsenault. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Germany and he also served 5 years in the Canadian Army. Upon his discharge from the service he attended LaVal University in Quebec City. He married Marguerite Cochrane on December 21, 1945 at St. Patrick’s Church in Sherbrooke, Quebec and the next year they moved to Detroit. He retired from Ford in 1980 and moved to Bay Port, having many years of tranquility and happiness here. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8042 and St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon.
Bruno is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Marguerite; children Suzanne and her husband Ronald Novack of Novi, Marc and his wife Li-Chu of Livonia, Denise and her husband Thomas Lisowski of Harrison Township, Roger and his wife Chris of North Carolina, Maurice Richard “Rocky” and his wife Gerrie of Monroe, Thomas and his wife Dina of Dearborn, and David of Bay Port; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother Paul of Livonia and a sister Margo Stricker of Novi.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Margaret Ann.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon. Burial will be at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Brother Knights will serve as pall-bearers.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday and 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville, as well as from 9:00 AM Tuesday until the time of Mass at Church. There will be a Knights of Columbus Rosary on Monday at 4:00PM and a vigil service on Monday at 7:00 PM.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church.
