Burma L. Gettel

Burma Louise Gettel, age 71, of Sebewaing, formerly of Bay Port, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015, at her home. Burma was born September 14, 1943 in Bay Port. She married Lyle Gettel on January 18, 1964, at The United Methodist Church in Pigeon. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2010. Burma enjoyed sewing and reading.

Burma is survived by her children, Bryan (Margaret) Gettel of Greeneville, TN & Roxanne (Gettel) Scharf of Sebewaing; grandchildren, Stephanie (Drew) Howard of Caro & Richelle Scharf of Sebewaing; great granddaughter, Amberlyn Howard; sisters, Roxanna Albrecht of Bay Port and Iola Kreh of Caro; and brother, George Harder of Bay Port; and many nieces and nephews.

Burma is preceded in death by 1 son-in-law, Eugene Scharf; and siblings: Weaver Harder, Simeon Harder, Sampson Harder, Elvin Harder, and Suzanne Young.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 3-8pm.

The funeral service will be Friday, February 6, 2015, 11am at the Funeral Home.

Burial will take place privately at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing.
