C. Elizabeth “Betty” Young, 91, of Caseville, died Friday, March 3, 2006 at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital in Howell after a lengthy illness.
Betty was born February 16, 1915 in Clare to the late Wesley and Edith (Canfield) Lattimore. She grew up in Coleman where she met and married her husband Francis on February 16, 1936. After getting married she moved to Detroit and later to Royal Oak while working as a beautician. The family began vacationing in Caseville in 1965 and Betty and her husband moved there permanently in 1973. She was a former member of the Caseville Eagle’s Auxiliary, Caseville Library Club and the Caseville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and visiting with friends and family.
Betty is survived by her daughter Jill (Ken) Hammond of Inverness, Illinois and Don (Cindy) of Milford; grandchildren Kelly, Kim, Tracy, Lisa, and Jeremy; great-grandchildren Jenna, Morgan, Ryan, Andi, Joseph, Daniel, Evan, Brendan, Riley, Brady, Keegan and Keira.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1987 and a grandson Ryan.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Wednesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Wednesday.
