Camilo Ramirez Mascorro, 99, of Pigeon, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.
Camilo was born July 18, 1923 in Castroville, Texas to the late Crus and Maria (Ramirez) Mascorro. He married Victoria Martinez on September 5, 1942; she preceded him in death on July 12, 2015.
He moved from Castroville, Texas to Pigeon permanently in 1965 and worked for the Village of Pigeon and then retired from Laker Schools as a mechanic in 1978. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. He enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Surviving are his children, Albert Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Carmen (Doug) Parrish of Dallas, TX, Elijio “Lee” (Luci) Mascorro of Bad Axe, Gene (Rose) Mascorro of Bad Axe, Amelia (Michael) Matthews of Unionville, Hector Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Mary Mascorro of Bad Axe, Melinda Ibrahim of Dallas, TX, George (Tina) Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Gina (Oscar) Rosado of St. Louis, MO, Charlie Mascorro of Castroville, TX, Melissa (Christian) Kish of Elkton, Vicky Mascorro of Flushing and Angie Mascorro of Pigeon; over 140 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were three sons, Junior, Ferman and Elias Mascorro; a grandson, Santos; great-grandson, Isaac and his siblings Florencio, Antonio, Elogio, Pablo, Margarita, Teresa, and Isabela.
A funeral mass will be 11:00am Saturday, April 29th at St. Francis Catholic Church in Pigeon with Fr. George Amos presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel. There will be a rosary at 7pm Friday.
